wxNibbles - Event Driven Game Programing with wxWidgets


This is a introductory tutorial for wxWidgets. It demonstrates using wxWidgets as a platform independent widget system for creating games. It is geared towards people who already know C++ and want to use wxWidgets to aid them in cross-platform development. You don't have to be well versed in wxWidgets, but it will help.

In this tutorial, we will build a game called wxNibbles. It is a clone of the popular nibbles snake game. In this game, the player controls a snake who goes slithers around a maze eating apples. The snake must not run into a wall or its own body. For every apple the snake eats, it grows larger making it harder to avoid hitting itself. This version will have support for multiple levels, and will have a scoring system so we can display a hi score board.
